WordsReward points
RP
Short for reward points: what a card earns for each set amount you spend; HDFC Bank’s MITC, for example, gives points per ₹200 on many cards, so the part of a spend under ₹200 earns nothing. Rent and wallet loads earn none on its cards, and points are taken back when a purchase is refunded.
A point’s worth depends on how you spend it: HDFC Bank’s Regalia Gold terms value it at ₹0.50 on flights and hotels booked through SmartBuy, and ₹0.15 against the bill. Most HDFC Bank points expire after two years, and RBI’s rules make a bank publish the details of its rewards and give you a copy.
