WordsA spend target with a reward

Milestone

A reward for spending a set amount on a card within a period, from a calendar month to a card year: bonus points, a voucher, a membership. HDFC Bank’s Regalia Gold terms, for example, give a voucher worth ₹1,500 for ₹1,50,000 of spends in a calendar quarter, and a flight ticket worth ₹5,000 for ₹7,50,000 in a card year.

How spends count is set in each card’s terms; the Regalia Gold terms count net retail spends by the date each one posts, leave EMI spends out, take refunds back off the total, and start again from zero if the card is upgraded or replaced. The reward has to be claimed within 60 days of the period ending.
