WordsNo annual fee this year
Fee waiver
The annual fee cancelled for a year. On many cards it comes with spending: the card’s terms set an amount, and if your spends in a card year reach it, the next renewal fee isn’t charged. HDFC Bank, for example, counts retail spends over the preceding 12 months, and its MITC leaves cash withdrawals and balance transfers out.
A first year’s fee can be waived the same way, for spends in the first 90 days on some HDFC Bank cards. A bank can also waive fees at its own discretion; HDFC Bank’s fee page says first-year waivers and lifetime free cards go to select customers under its internal guidelines.
