WordsMembership Rewards
MR
Short for Membership Rewards, American Express’s points programme in India, run by American Express Banking Corp. Most of its personal cards earn 1 point for every ₹50 spent, and none on fuel, insurance and utilities; the points can go on vouchers, to airline and hotel programmes, or against your card bill, at least 1,000 at a time.
Amex’s terms say the points don’t expire, though Amex can bring in an expiry and change what points are worth. A statement’s points are forfeited if its minimum due isn’t paid by the due date, and a closed card’s points have to be used within 30 days. RBI’s rules make a bank publish the details of its rewards and give you a copy.
