WordsNew to credit

NTC

Shorthand for new to credit: someone who hasn’t had a credit card or a loan yet, so the credit bureaus have no history on them. A history starts with the first card or loan, once the lender reports it, and Experian gives having no credit yet as one of the two usual reasons it has no score for someone.

Everyone starts here. Banks report each card and loan to all four credit bureaus, so the first one starts a history at each of them.
