WordsHow much of your limit you use

Utilisation

The share of your credit limit you’re using at a given moment: owing ₹30,000 on a ₹1,00,000 limit is 30 per cent, and paying it down to ₹10,000 makes it 10 per cent.

Experian, one of India’s four credit bureaus, works it out across all the credit available to you and counts it as a high-impact factor in its score. A bureau sees the balance your bank last reported, and RBI’s rules have banks report it four times a month, as on the 9th, 16th, 23rd and last day.
