WordsLimit enhancement
LE
Short for limit enhancement: a higher limit on a card you already have, the same thing as a CLI. HDFC Bank and Axis Bank use the phrase for it, and RBI’s rules count enhancing a limit as an upgrade, which a bank can’t make without your explicit consent.
Each bank decides who it offers one to. HDFC Bank’s page, for example, says it enhances limits for select customers based on their usage and repayments, on primary cards only and without a charge; Axis Bank’s request form asks for income proof and leaves the new limit to the bank’s discretion.
